Our new Director is confident behind the lens in every scenario on the set—and that doesn't just mean you need to have a strong opinion on framing. You're expected to have the know-how to develop concepts, set up shoots and edit videos that hold an audience's attention and leave them feeling, well, however it is we want them to feel to meet our client's goals. While you'll work on some internal and passion projects, a key responsibility of your role will be building and maintaining trusted relationships with clients.
Here’s a snapshot (but not all) of your responsibilities:
Proven leader. You'll spearhead efforts on video projects in a wide range of verticals, so confidence in your abilities is a must.
Set builder. You know the ins and outs of lighting, audio and camera equipment to build sets efficiently.
Scene sorter. You edit videos with the best of them, dropping in the right shot at the right angle at the right time.
Hue master. Color correct and color grade footage to ensure a consistent and beautiful final cut.
Deadline manager. You follow directions, respond to clients and finish projects—on time.
Quality assurer. Before a project ever sees the light of day, you review project goals, scope and expectations to make sure you've hit the mark.
Idea generator. Not only do you brainstorm amazing concepts, but you can also articulate your ideas with charisma and panache.
Team player. You're ready to jump into the fray to support the company account team and other team members.
Knowledge sharer. You'll develop a wealth of knowledge about particular clients, so we expect you to keep our team updated during internal meetings, usually on a weekly basis.
Social scroller. You like to talk to people in person, but you're also into social media. A part of your role focuses on helping our Think Ahead Studios team manage their social media accounts with amazing content.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree in new media, video production or similar field of study
A hands-on leader with a minimum of three years of experience in an agency or production company
Working (and even slightly nerdy) knowledge of various video skills and techniques
Experience with camera stabilizing systems, such as Steadicam, Glidecam or Movi
Experience with scripted and documentary video
Budget management skills
Excellent communication skills—both oral and written
Experience growing accounts and securing new business within assigned accounts
