
It’s looking like we’re all in this for the long haul. So, to pass the time — and also find ways to pass along some good will — we asked our team to share some of the quarantine-related stuff they’ve been engaging with, especially those things that support our local Indianapolis community. Whether it’s a tip about an at-home workout, a helpful healthcare update, or a few ways to keep your energetic ankle-biters at bay, here’s a list of ways you can find a little bit of enjoyment while you stay (and try to work) at home.
Healthcare
- Indiana University Health is offering virtual coronavirus screenings.
- Eli Lilly started offering free coronavirus testing.
- Howl + Hide, an Indiana leather manufacturer, has begun production of protective masks for healthcare workers.
Employment
- Katie Carroll, Editor at LinkedIn, published a list of companies hiring right now.
- Kroger is hiring 10K employees.
Fitness
- Invoke Yoga Studio is streaming online yoga classes for $10. Get your stretch on.
- F-45 Indianapolis, at least for now, is posting one 45-minute workout on Instagram Live and Facebook Live every day. They post their weekly workout schedule on Instagram. Follow them here.
Entertainment/Fun
- Hambone's Trivia hosts two free trivia games on YouTube Live each day: family-friendly game at 12:30 p.m. ET and the "monster" game at 8:30 p.m. ET. Follow @hambonestrivia on Instagram, click the link in their bio for Virtual Trivia, and sign up.
- Netflix Party allows you to watch Netflix with friends.
Child Care
- Indy's Child is a parenting resource that has, among other things, "70 Things to Do with Kids Now That We’re All Stuck at Home." That's a lot of things . . . Follow them at @indyschild.
- #OperationStoryTime gives your kids the opportunity to hear awesome stories read by equally awesome authors. Parents: This is like TV and reading at the same time.
Arts and Education
- Harrison Center is giving people daily art prompts (like this one that asks you to draw your breakfast). Follow them at @harrisoncenterarts.
- Thumbs posted a free, printable coloring book (scroll down on the page linked here and click to download it).
Restaurants/Hospitality
- Yelp posted a list of restaurants offering delivery, carryout, and online orders.
- Savor and Sip has organized this list similar to Yelp's (see above links) — organized by location.
- Hotel Tango has been making hand sanitizer instead of just booze.
