A digital upgrade for a high-traffic, high-energy event
Each year, Rev takes over the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway with gourmet cuisine, live entertainment, and a red carpet to support Indiana’s healthcare heroes. However, as the event evolved, its digital experience needed to keep up. It reached a point where the Rev team was managing duplicate content across a website and two native apps, leading to an inefficient workflow and rising costs. Meanwhile, attendees were increasingly hesitant to download yet another app. Rev needed a more intuitive, scalable solution.
According to TechCrunch, 51% of users download zero apps per month — illustrating the challenge of gaining traction through app stores alone.

Our Process
Solving for content management and scale with thoughtful planning
We started by applying our LOGIQ framework — specifically our Learn, Organize, and Generate phases — to guide our strategy. Through collaborative planning, we gathered input on Rev’s operational needs and audience behavior. We organized a path toward a long-term, easy-to-maintain solution that combined marketing and event functionality into a single, unified experience.
Our Work
A mobile-first web app, powered by an existing CMS
Rev’s primary marketing site was built on Craft CMS to give their team a centralized, flexible platform for managing content. This allowed for consistent, real-time updates across both the website and the event experience, eliminating the need for duplicate entry across multiple systems. By tapping into Craft’s content modeling capabilities, we were able to structure data in a way that could be seamlessly consumed by both front-end experiences. This streamlined internal workflows and reduced the technical overhead and cost of maintaining separate native apps.
Then, to replace those native apps, we built a mobile-first web application designed specifically for the main event. Upon arrival, attendees could scan a QR code and instantly access a fast, intuitive interface — no downloads, no App Store friction. The app featured real-time vendor and event listings, an SMS opt-in system for key updates, and a lightweight favoriting tool powered by the localStorage API, so users could personalize their night without needing to create an account.
We designed the experience to work smoothly at optimum performance even in high-traffic, low-connectivity environments — perfect for a packed venue like the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Outcomes
When the big night arrived, our infrastructure didn’t just hold — it excelled. We implemented full-page static caching, offloaded search to the client side, and used localStorage for favoriting, eliminating the need for user accounts. The result: fast, frictionless access for users and minimal load on the server.

By building with longevity and user behavior in mind, we helped Rev create an experience that's as iconic as the venue itself — without reinventing the wheel every year.
