Our Process

A national financial services and insurance distribution organization built around a network of independent, licensed agents faced a growing reputation challenge. Online conversations became increasingly dominated by misinformation, skepticism, and inconsistent messaging. As the company approached a high-profile investment milestone and a record-breaking agent population, it lacked the communication infrastructure needed to shape and defend its narrative — one around the opportunity it provided individuals from all walks of life. The company lacked crisis protocols, social listening, and a unified messaging strategy. The challenge wasn’t just promoting the brand. It was rebuilding trust at scale while creating the operational foundation to sustain it.

Our Work

We reframed the engagement from “improving sentiment” to reclaiming the narrative. Working closely with incoming marketing leadership and C-suite stakeholders, we helped align the organization around a clear reputation strategy and defined the path forward. Through deep research and sentiment analysis, we identified the sources of misinformation, how negative narratives spread, and where the brand had the greatest opportunity to influence perception across search, social, and media coverage.

That insight shaped a reputation strategy built around the brand’s strongest asset: its agents. We developed SEO-driven content to counter negative search results, strengthened the company’s social presence with more consistent storytelling, and created shareable content that agents could actively amplify across their own networks. We also produced agent spotlights and earned media stories that positioned them as credible brand advocates. To further extend the impact, we hosted a social media training webinar series to help agents grow their own online presence and communicate the company’s value more confidently. As sentiment began to shift, agents took notice of the stronger brand presence — and became active participants in helping reshape the narrative themselves.

Results

What began as a project engagement has expanded into a multi-stream partnership across reputation, communications, change management, and digital adoption. We’ve become an extension of the operating arm of the client's in-house marketing team. Internal posture shifted from reactive defense to proactive, always-on narrative ownership. The agent base shifted with it, with organic re-shares from agents climbing 574% in the launch window as they began volunteering for media interviews and amplifying brand content. Positive brand sentiment has moved from 5% to 15% year over year, and the brand reclaimed the #1 organic search position on the most damaging branded queries it had previously been unable to defend. Just as importantly, the client's marketing function emerged more confident and strategically aligned with its parent organization. The company now has a clear story to tell and the operating system to keep telling it.
